is holding a contest to design a new outfit for her OC, Star. I decided I'd take a whack at it too.

I'm not really sure about this picture though There are several thing really. First I'd like to apologies for the shoddy, cheap shading. I didn't want to inundate the picture with shading and highlights that would detract from the outfit design. However I don't think I did the shading right with this. And it's been sending me nuts for the past week...I hate shading...sigh...

Next is the design... Blazey said we can include a weapon if we want... I kinda' let that come to the forefront of my design I think I went a bit over board with the combat girl look. I wanted something that can be worn casual but also has the flexibility to be used in combat.

For example the straps on the jacket give it more detail. However they also can be used to attach extra items say....grenades hehe...he

I also included ammo holders on the jacket, both on the right arm and the left breast. I kept the idea of a tactical vest in mind whilst doing it.

I wanted something wispy and full of motion, so I added the scarf. All fight scenes look better with dynamic cloth flying around lmao...

The gloves are kinda a ninja glove/fingerless combat glove hybrid. And the boots are made with a high strength rubber compound to make running easier, and also increase jump height. I decided to add zips to both sides of the 'tongue' of the boot. This would make it easier to quickly remove them, also I have a habit of using lace ups, so I thought I'd make a change.

The colour came form the idea of swat units...hehe...he.

Sigh... this is all well and good, and I actually like the design... But I think I got carried away and I'm not sure if it suits the characters persona.

I decided to go with a transparent picture, as I haven't done one before. And as I didn't want a background to interfere with the focal point of the picture, I thought this was the best way to go. I added a slightly blurred 'shadow' image in the back to make it a bit more interesting in back though lol XD.

Oh as for the pose, it looks a little like one of Blazeys ref pics. That was completely by accident . I did the prep work at my work, and the pose just ended up looking alike by accident

Well at any rate apart from the annoying shading, I enjoyed working on this picture.
